Vehicle Overview
RoW 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo
This 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo is a rest-of-the-world example that was produced in February 1978 for the German market. The car is finished in paint-to-sample Beige Nacre Metallic over leather-to-sample tan with Pasha velour inserts, and additional features include 16? Fuchs alloy wheels, a tea tray rear spoiler, H4 headlights, front sport seats, and power windows. It shows 51k miles on a replacement odometer and is powered by a turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six linked with a four-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. This 930 Turbo was purchased by the current owner in July 2016, and it is now offered in California on dealer consignment with a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate and a clean Colorado title.
The car left the factory finished in paint-to-sample Beige Nacre Metallic, and the body panels were stripped down to bare metal and refinished in 2017 by Apex Auto Body and Paint Experts of Lakewood, Colorado. Features include H4 headlights with washers, fog lights, dual side mirrors, a rear window wiper, rear fender stone guards, rear bumperettes, a front spoiler, and a “tea tray” rear spoiler. Photos depicting paint-meter readings are provided in the gallery.
Staggered-width 16? Fuchs alloy wheels are mounted with Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2 tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel ventilated discs.
The seats are trimmed in leather-to-sample tan with Pasha velour inserts and are joined by a contrasting brown dashboard and carpets. Additional interior features includes front sport seats, power windows, and a cabin heater. The leather on the dashboard shows signs of separation and the passenger window operate slowly.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a replacement 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,700-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 51k miles, Less than 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque. It received a rebuilt fuel distributor and warm-up regulator in 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. Rust damage is shown in detail in the gallery.
The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate was issued in July 2024 by Porsche South Bay in California and lists delivery to Germany, original powertrain numbers, factory colors and options, and a February 1978 date of production. All inspections welcome. We ship worldwide.
